PPC Child Development Center

March 2022

It is the beginning of March and we are already planning for the PPCDC summer program. Our After School Class has 22 children, and once the 4K children “graduate” in May they, too, will become after schoolers. We try to limit the class size to 28 because of field trips and bus seat limits, but we do not deny any current 4K student a place in the after school program. So that means becoming creative with field trips, class configurations, and staffing.

We also add extra fun activities for the younger children. Many of those activities have been restricted because of COVID-19, but we are forever hopeful that this pandemic will at least become more manageable so that we can return to having Kid Fit, library visitors, karate teachers, chapel, and dance lessons back in the center.

COVID-19 continues to impact the center. Now, seven out of eight classes have or have had children or teachers with COVID-19 or in quarantine because of being a close contact to someone that had COVID. Thankfully, all those that were sick have fully recovered.

As always, I am thankful for the staff, the families, and the children of Providence.
