Wow, August how did we get here so quickly? The Summer months seem to have been a blur for me.

As I have mentioned before the PCUSA designates different topics of focus on the PCUSA resource calendar. It makes since that the month on August is focused on education as most schools begin their new school year.

Youth in the Church and World is the focus for the week of August 14th. Mission trips, camps, and conferences have been attended. Adventures await for the new school year either in K-12 school or high education. I encourage you to add the children & youth of Providence and the community to your personal prayer that week.

Public Education is the focus for the week of August 21st. Providence has been a long time supporter of education particularly the education of our youngest children with the opening of our children development center decades ago. Can we do more? When was the last time you attended a school board meeting or reviewed the public minutes? When was the last time you donated school supplies to a school or teacher? It doesn’t matter if you have a child currently enrolled in a school. Pubic schools are important to communities. Let us prayer for our schools, the teachers, the staff, and the students not just at the beginning of the year but through out the school year.

Providence Presbyterian Church will be kicking off the new program year September 11, 2022. Look for more information to be emailed to you and published in next month’s newsletter.
