Christian Education: Children and Youth Program

Social Media is helpful at times to remind you of time gone by and what to be thankful for. This week I have been reminded by my Facebook account what I was doing exactly one year ago. Knox was recovering from surgery for his broken leg. What a year it has been! At times I wasn’t sure Knox was ever going to really recover 100%. It certainly was rough at times. After countless doctor appointments and physical therapy sessions he finally graduated from PT at the end of September. After 6 months of homebound school from November 2020 – April 2021 and 2 months of virtual school he completed his freshman year with all As and Bs. After a Summer of continued healing and PT Knox is able to attend regular, in person, school at Irmo High. I wasn’t sure he was going to have the leg strength and stamina to get from class to class. His class schedule requires him to go from one end of the school to the other end of the school at each class change. Boy, I was wrong to doubt him. Knox is back!

One would think that Knox’s adventure would have been enough for the Robinsons over the last 12 month, but no… Laken had surgery to repair a tendon in her ankle, Eric had his gallbladder removed, and Wyatt had his wisdom teeth removed. What a year!

This brings me back to being reminded that I am thankful for my friends and family who have helped us along the way. All your prayers of encouragement and hope have all been felt. I know this Thanksgiving I will be thankful for so much.

As we transition from Thanksgiving into the Advent Season I would like to invite you to join me in an Advent Study. The Book of Luke has 24 chapters and I plan on reading a chapter a day starting December 1st. We all know the stories of Christ’s life and we have all heard them, but have we really pondered them one chapter at a time?

Blessings to you and your family.
