Sunday School for Children!
February 2026
Providence was recently blessed to offer the sacrament of baptism to two children of God. We committed to nurture, teach, and support them in their spiritual journey. Why did we do this? Because we know in our hearts, we want them to walk closer to God, and we want them to recognize they are truly a child of God.
Jesus taught us the cost of commitment would not always be easy. Paul spoke to us about being a runner in the middle of a race when commitment starts to waiver. We learn from Moses that we were all created to be faithful. Let’s not lose our focus on that commitment.
There are too many circumstances and events happening around us that distract us. There are things we commit to doing, yet we often forget. Maybe you set a date with your spouse, but your work demanded overtime. Maybe you told your child that you’re going to do something with them, yet it slipped your mind. As a student, maybe you said you were going to study for a quiz, yet you overplayed a computer game, and the list goes on and on. We easily forget commitments.
Oftentimes in our Christian life, we forget our commitment to God. We miss one devotional, one bible reading, one prayer time, and then we realize we have drifted from him. Yet God reminds us of our commitment through various ways: a sermon, a song, a post on social media, a message from a friend, even through a life crisis. He waits patiently for us to remember our commitment.
God is tugging at our hearts to offer Sunday School for the children at Providence. Let’s remember our recent commitment. We vowed to nurture, teach and support these little ones. We are seeking teachers that are willing to commit 3-4 weeks every quarter to serve on this team. Please be bold in your prayers by asking God to direct your path and be reminded; as your level of commitment grows, so will your level of blessings.
