The Pastor's Corner

June 2026

7 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
    whose confidence is in him.
8 They will be like a tree planted by the water
    that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
    its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
    and never fails to bear fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7-8).

The month of May was quite exciting! I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their efforts to make our celebrations so wonderful. We recognized Teachers and Nurses during the worship service and were reminded of the importance of their roles in our lives.

The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.' (Matthew 25:40)

We marked a milestone for the CDC 4K class with a graduation ceremony, and we celebrated with our members who graduated from High School and College. We also elected officers and were reminded of the importance of our Christian education programs in preparing the next generation of leaders.

These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart. Repeat them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up (Deuteronomy 6:6–7).

We celebrated Pentecost, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and were reminded of the many and varied gifts of the Spirit.

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. 1 Corinthians 12:4–6

We look forward to the summer months – enjoying time with family and friends and the beautiful world God made. The liturgical color for the time after Pentecost is green, reminding us of new life and growth. This period is often referred to as Ordinary Time. During these months the lectionary readings concentrate on spiritual growth and building up the church.

As the Apostle Paul prayed for the church in Philippi, I pray for you: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. (Philippians 1:9-11).

Grace and peace to you,

Pastor Teresa
