The Pastor's Corner
December 2025
As we begin this new season of the church year, I want to take this opportunity to say that I am so thankful for all of you! I want to share my prayer for you, the members and friends of Providence Presbyterian Church.
Almighty God, you have brought forth from the root of Jesse a shoot, Jesus our Savior. Your spirit rests on him. He is your anointed one, the promised Messiah, and in him you are well pleased.
Wonderful Counselor, you have promised to hear us when we pray to you. You said, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest“ (Matthew 11:28). I pray for those who are suffering in body or mind, for those who are lonely, for those who mourn and are missing those they love. God of comfort, heal the brokenhearted, comfort them, and give them peace.
Everlasting Father, pour out your blessings on your people. Make your presence known to them and help them to feel your love in a very real way.
Prince of Peace, help us to share your love with all people. Give us generous hearts that are quick to forgive. Help us to seek justice. Grant us harmony with one another, so that with one mind and one voice we may glorify you. Amen.
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace"(Isaiah 9:6).
