The Pastor's Corner

May 2025

Dear Friends,

It is good to be back at Providence! It has been two years since my internship here and so much has happened since. I completed a Chaplain residency and was ordained as Minister of Word and Sacrament in December 2024. Providence has experienced significant changes during the past couple of years, too. You said goodbye to some beloved members and welcomed new members of your church family. Soon you will elect a new slate of elders. Your Pastor Nominating Committee is at work discerning who God has called to be your next pastor. This is certainly an exciting time for Providence Presbyterian Church!

Transitions are exciting AND transitions can be stressful. Christians have a long history of transitions. I’m sure our ancestors wondered what would happen next, how would they manage moving forward. I’m sure many of you have wondered the same things about this transitional period at Providence. The one constant throughout all of history is that God is the same, God does not change. We can be certain of God’s love and provision for us.

It is my prayer for Providence Presbyterian Church that, during this time of transition, God will comfort you when you feel anxious and give you peace.

Peace and blessings,

Rev. Teresa Reed

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. (Romans 15:13, NRSV)
