From the Pastor's Corner
February 2025
The first Sunday of the month was Groundhog Day and since Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, we are supposed to have more winter. The snow was nice and hopefully it killed off a few of the germs flying around in the air. We have seen Covid, RSV, Flu type A, and colds in our midst this winter. If you have been sick and I didn’t reach out to you, it’s because I didn’t know, but hope all of you are on the mend.
Lunch this past Sunday was a huge hit, thank you Jude and family for sharing your story with everyone. Someone suggested that we have everyone from the congregation tell their story and get to know one another again. I think this is a great idea, especially when you get your next minister. This would give him or her a heads up on who makes up the Providence Church Family.
We do enjoy lunch and fellowship together. Our next lunch is scheduled for February 9, when the PNC, Pastor Nominating committee, will give an update on where they are in the process. You will have an opportunity to ask questions, and your input is very important. This lunch is catered, and an offering will be taken.
If you enjoy having lunch together, please let Joanne Masters, Chair of Congregational Care, know and offer suggestions for what we can celebrate together. It is a lot of work and I would like to thank Eddie Enfinger, Jay Coles and George Hayes for their cooking this past week. George Hayes for putting together the video and Christopher Bragan and Jon Simmons for putting out the extra tables and chairs and then putting everything away with help from all who stepped in.
February appears to be a quiet month on the calendar. I hope you all stay warm and if you need me, I’m here.
Blessings,
Pastor Alice
