Music Notes
As you know, we are in the season of Epiphany. On January 5, I wrote an email to musicians about the next day being Epiphany of the Lord. I included the following quote which was on the J.W. Pepper (Music Company) website:
“In the Christian world, the Epiphany is the visit of the wise men to the
Baby Jesus and the subsequent spreading of the news of Jesus’ birth.
For many churches, the season of Epiphany extends until the beginning of
Lent, and is represented by the symbol of light, as the Light of the World
has come.”
So, Happy Epiphany, everyone!
We will celebrate seven Sundays of Epiphany, followed by Transfiguration and then Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, is March 2 this year.
Chancel Choir continues to rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 6:15.
Adult Handbell Choir will rehearse again at 4:30 on Sunday afternoons beginning February 6, after a little January break.
Best wishes for a joyful 2022, filled with Light!
Love,
Donna
